I intentionally wrote my last blog entry in Paraguay to be the final post, the final public reflections on my Peace Corps service, at least for a while. But now two months into the "readjustment process" back in the U.S., I find myself missing this kind of communication - writing publicly about certain parts of life around me that I find fascinating or frustrating or just plain strange. I'm glad that I've given blogging some time... heaven knows I've had a lot of crazy thoughts about this crazy country. While I'm not ashamed of them, I do think that the better forum for those is a quick call to a fellow recovering Peace Corps-er. Usually my friend Amelia takes the brunt. This is not to say that I don't vent to other friends and family - of course I do. But I try not to. (Guilt and a strange sense that I'm acting completely delusional set in quickly.)
Anyway, I'm back in the blog-o-sphere!
Today we're getting our first real winter storm this year. Granted, I don't have to drive in it, but I do think that it is so beautiful! I'm thinking about trying crosscountry skiing. It'd be great to get out and enjoy the snow without freezing my butt off.
Also, I have a couple of job interviews in Illinois next week. Yay!
